OVERVIEW
For this project, we researched two of the eleven organ systems and created a display to show three functions. Our group decided on the nervous and skeletal systems. To represent both systems and the relationship between them, my group and I built a representation of the human hand using straws, string, nuts, and silicone sealant. The hand shows the skeletal system with the straws that control the joints of each finger, while the nervous system is under our control, representing the brain as we pull the strings to bend the fingers. Below is our proposal and pictures of the final product.
CONTENT
NERVOUS SYSTEM: complex network of nerves and cells that carry messages to and from the brain and spinal cord to various parts of the body
SKELETAL SYSTEM: framework of the body that consists of bones and other connective tissues to protect and support internal organs, helping with support, movement, blood cell production, protection, calcium storage and enzyme regulation

REFLECTION
This project was one of the few that I felt has gone successfully without many issues or time concerns. I believe that my group worked really well together, considering all of us have collaborated together for previous projects. One thing we did well was communicate constantly, working out scheduling conflicts to acquire materials and work on our presentation outside of school to then be ready to work at school. Another strength of my group was organization. We were constantly making lists of what needed to be done, planning deadlines, and designating work to each member. I felt that I contributed to both of these strengths by completing all that I needed to do, as well as helping the other members.
There were a few areas of the assignment that my group struggled with. One problem we had was procrastination, finding ourselves not working and distracting ourselves and others instead of getting work done. Another issue we ran into was the need for materials that were not available to us at school. Having to purchase the needed items took longer than anticipated to do, putting us a little behind schedule. However, our group did very well on this project and produced a rather original and interesting representation of the nervous and skeletal systems!
